German Shepherd as easy Pet:

German shepherd is one of the top pets, dog lovers wanna own. They are intelligent, courageous, athletic, and world-famous. Before getting a pet, everyone should know whether their pet is easygoing with their lifestyle or not.

In the case of German Shepherds, which are naturally protective and adaptive, one can get along with them while others can’t.

This dog breed is mainly for the work line, an experienced person c

an handle them well.

It can be challenging for any newbie willing to start with GSD due to a lack of previous experience.

Let’s discuss what GSD needs in their training as a pet.

  1. Exercise

They are high-energy driven dogs who need 2 hours of daily physical exercise, other than walks. They need running, hiking, and other activities because they were primarily herd dogs for sheep when they used to be active most of the time.

If you neglect their needs, they will start showing destructive behavior out of boredom. Therefore, you must preoccupy them all the time. They can’t be a good pet for you if you barely have any interest in exercise.

If you don’t have time, hire any service provider to work as a dog walker.

  1. They need socialization

German shepherd dogs need your attention, it is in their instinct to socialize more. If you have any job that consumes all of your time outside of the house, then GSD will not get along with you.

They may start chewing home products or bark excessively.

You can’t keep them alone for more than four hours. If you are retired or work from home, then GSD is an ideal pet for you.

  1. They need proper training

GSD needs an owner with strong leadership qualities who will give them commands. If their owner doesn’t have this quality, then GSD will start behaving as a leader. They will refuse to obey you and in return, they can be destructive towards you and your surroundings.

Start training them from an early age, when they are a few weeks old. It is the best time to train them, as they grow old it becomes difficult to train them, due to their aggressive behavior.

You need to train them with love and patience. Treating them harshly or punishing them won’t help in the long run, instead, use rewards to lure them to do things for their training.

Never leave them around children without teaching them how to behave around kids. The same goes for friends and neighbors who are strangers to GSD. Train them to behave nicely around them, instead of barking and being overly protective.

  1. They need proper nutrition

They are strong dogs who are highly active dog breeds. They can cover miles without resting. Depending upon their activity level, they need proper food full of nutrition twice a day.

As long as proper feeding is crucial, they should not be over-fed. Otherwise, they can gain weight if they don’t utilize that energy. It can lead to diseases like hip dysplasia, which is very common in GSD.

Lastly, they shed a lot of their hair, and if you have an allergy, it can be irritating for you to be around them. A proper combing routine is essential for their maintenance.

These were some of the departments that make GSD hardgoing for some and easygoing for others.
